Sally Pendlebury has dedicated most of her playing career to chamber music.
She was a founder member of the award winning Vellinger Quartet with whom she toured the world, playing in many International Festivals and Concert Houses.
Later, she became a member of the Fitzwilliam Quartet and with them, recently recorded the last 3 Schubert Quartets and the last 3 Shostakovich Quartets to critical acclaim.
Sally is also a member of the Angell Piano Trio and Mobius Ensemble.
Last year she performed music for solo cello and electronics at Kings Place for Londin Sinfonietta and earlier this year was in Hong Kong adjudicating at the Hong Kong schools Music Festival..
A long serving member of the Chamber Orchestra of Europe, she also plays with Andras Schiff’s’ Cappella Andrea Barca. She was Section Leader at Opera North for 5 years and regularly plays guest principal with Royal Scottish National Orchestra, Philharmonia, BBC Philharmonic, Royal Philharmonic, Royal Northern Sinfonia, English Chamber Orchestra, Salzburg Camerata and London Sinfonietta.
She taught cello at Guildhall School of Music and Drama and the Royal northern College of Music. She currently teaches Cello and Chamber Music at TrinityLaban.
