Born in Conversano in 1990, Emanuele Giovanni Urso studied French horn at the “N.  Rota” – Monopoli with U. Musio, graduating in 2009. In 2014 he obtained the Master’s Diploma in French Horn with top marks at the “B.  Maderna” under the guidance of Maestro Benucci.  He later perfected himself at the prestigious Buchmann – Mehta School of Music in Tel Aviv with M. Abadi and in 2019 at the advanced courses of the Fondazione Scuola di Musica di Fiesole O.N.L.U.S.

Famose international professionals horn players have also contributed to his training over the years, such as: Dale Clevenger, Sarah Willis, Stefan de Leval Jezierski, Stefan Dohr, Hermann Baumann, Will Sanders, William VerMulen, Radovan Vlatkovic, David Bonet, Giovanni Hoffer, Jonathan Williams, Frank Lloyd, Roger Bobo, Frøydis Ree Wekre, Markus Maskuniitty, André Cazalet, Elies Moncholì Cervero, Giuliano Sommerhalder, Daniel Perantoni, Johannes Hinterholzer, David Cooper, Rodolfo Epelde.

He has made numerous appearances as a first horn such as: Berliner Philharmoniker, Symphonieorchester des Bayerischen Rundfunks, Mahler Chamber Orchestra, RAI National Symphony Orchestra, BBC Philharmonic Orchestra, Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, Israel Philharmonic Orchestra, Israel Symphony Orchestra and Tel Opera House Aviv, Suzhou Symphony Orchestra, Jerusalem Baroque Orchestra, Israel Chamber Orchestra, Academy Orchestra of the Jugend Gustav Mahler Orchestra, Jalisco Philharmonic Orchestra, Maggio Musicale Fiorentino, Girona Orchestra, Haydn Orchestra of Bolzano and Trento, Orchestra Municipale Teatro Verdi of Salerno, Lyric Foundation Symphony Oorchestra of Petruzzelli Theater of Bari, Orchestra of the Teatro Comunale of Bologna, National Orchestra of the Conservatories of Italy, International Orchestra of Italy, Orchestra of the “Carlo Felice” Theater of Genoa, Orchestra “B.  Maderna ” of Cesena, Orchestra of the Teatro Lirico Sperimentale Belli of Spoleto, Ensemble “05”, Orchestra Ico Tito Schipa of Lecce, Orchester der Tiroler Festspiele Erl. Winner of a long list of solo prizes, national and international competitions also with chamber music ensembles, he has been protagonist as a soloist in concerts and festivals such as: Audimozart 2014, “Invito alla Scala” at the Teatro alla Scala,  chamber concerts of the Maggio Musicale Fiorentino, Camerata musica Fiorentina, Orchestra del Mediterraneo San Francesco di Paola, Orchestra Ayso, Ravenna Festival, Ravello Festival, Petruzzelli concert season.  Despite his young age, part of his activity is also dedicated on teaching;  he held masterclasses in orchestral and solo repertoire in: San Paolo (Brazil), Lima (Peru), Santiago de Chile, and again in Italian conservatories such as Milan, Campobasso, Siena, Avellino.  He has held the role of artistic secretary and wind/brass coach for Orchestracademy and the Apulian Youth Symphony Orchestra since 2018. He was Principal horn at the Petruzzelli Theater in Bari, from 2016 until 2019. In January 2021 he wont the position of Principal horn at Teatro del Maggio Musicale Fiorentino under the guidance of M’ Z. Mehta and from 08 February 2022 he holds the position of Principal Solo Horn at the Teatro alla Scala in Milan, under the guidance of M’ R. Chailly.  In December 2022 he was a finalist of the Berlin Philharmonic Principal Horn audition.
