Elisa Metus obtained her Bachelor’s degree in Oboe in 2010, graduating summa cum laude from the J. Tomadini Conservatory in Udine, under the guidance of Professor Paolo Pellarin.

She continued her studies by attending a Master at the University of Zurich ZHdK with M. Indermuhle (also completing a Praktikum with the Zurich Opera Orchestra) and later at the Lausanne University of Music (HEMU) with Maestro Jean-Luis Capezzali.

She has also studied with: Luca Vignali, Christoph Hartmann, Domenico Orlando, Fabien Thouand, David Walter and Nich Deutsch. During her studies in Switzerland, she served as principal oboe in various youth orchestras: Accademia del Teatro alla Scala, Baltic Youth Philharmonic, Swiss Youth Orchestra, and the L. Cherubini Youth Orchestra (conducted by Maestro Riccardo Muti).

She is currently principal oboe at Orchestra Sinfonica Siciliana. Previously, she held the same position at the “Erzgebirgische Philharmonie Aue” in Germany and has collaborated with many orchestras (also as principal), including:

The Orchestra of the Accademia di Santa Cecilia, the Budapest Festival Orchestra, the City of Birmingham Orchestra, the Rome Opera Orchestra, Teatro “La Fenice” Orchestra, the Toscanini Orchestra of Parma, the Bologna Theatre Orchestra, the Arena di Verona Foundation Orchestra, the Haydn Orchestra of Trento and Bolzano, the Padua and Veneto Orchestra, the Petruzzelli Theatre Orchestra, and the Malaysian Philharmonic Orchestra.

She has also frequently performed as English horn, collaborating with the Utopia Orchestra, the Maggio Musicale Fiorentino Orchestra, the Zurich Tonhalle Orchestra, the Teatro Regio di Torino Orchestra, and the Teatro Verdi di Trieste Orchestra.

She has worked under the baton of several renowned conductors, including: Muti, Chung, Gatti, Mehta, Temirkanov, Pappano, Luisi, Harding, Oren, Fisher, Currentzis, Noseda, Tate, Salonen, Kochanovsky, Yamada, Gardiner, and Valchua.

In recent years, alongside her career as an oboist, she has focused on studying the mental aspects of performance. She completed a Master in Humanistic Coaching and NLP at the Pegaso telematic university and subsequently attended the certified ICF courses “Allenati per l’eccellenza” in Coaching (Levels I and II) and in Neurolinguistic Programming (Level II). She has mentored and continues to work with many musicians at all levels, supporting them in their study, performance, and professional endeavors, using coaching, mindfulness, and NLP techniques.
