Special Prize 2025

Premio "Stradella" 1000 €

Every student participating to the Lunigiana International Music Festival has the opportunity to enter into the competition to perform as a soloist with orchestra during a concert at the end of the Festival. The jury, composed of faculty members, guest artists, the President and the Artistic Director, will make an indisputable choice of up to 3 musicians to participate in the orchestra concert. Beside the three winners, the Stradella prize winner(s) and the Special Baroque music winner(s), multiple concerts and recording prizes might be assigned to candidates.

Read the rules

  • Every student who applies to the Lunigiana International Music Festival has the right to partecipate into the competition. No age limits. Musicians who are not enrolled in the LIMF cannot apply into the competition.

  • The competition will be held in one round and it will be with the accompaniment of a pianist. Each contestant is required to play the entire concerto/movement/aria selected.

  • Each contestant should select a piece from the repertoire list given on the website. No other pieces will be admitted. Program selected must be specified in the application form. No changes of the program will be accepted after May 30, 2025.

  • In regard of the Premio Stradella, it might be awarded to one or two person. If two winners are selected, one might be given to a singer bringing a Stradella piece. The prize, If awarded to two people, will be split accordingly.

  • The jury is composed by LIMF faculty members and guest artists who will be announced on the website and/or social media during the Festival.

  • Special Baroque music prize: One or two contestants might be selected to perform as soloists with the Baroque Music Ensemble (if choosing a baroque concerto )

  • A maximum of three winners will be announced (each one representing a different instrument)

  • Competition schedule is going to be communicate to the contestants by the beginning of the Festival.

  • Each winner might receive further prizes. Special prizes might be awarded also to other contestants.

  • Prizes are ongoing and the information will be uploaded on the website.

  • The jury has the right to decide whether or not to award a prize.

The requested concerto/aria must be specified on the application form from the following list of composers

W.A. Mozart: Concerto n. 9 in Eflat Major, KV.271, "Allegro"

L.v. Beethoven: Concerto n. 1 in C Major, op.15 “Allegro con brio”

E. Grieg: Concerto in A Minor, Op. 16,  "Allegro molto moderato"

Voice

Two arias by any of the following: Puccini, Verdi, Donizetti, Mozart, Bellini, Rossini, Stradella.

F. Mendelsshon: Concerto op.64, in E minor, "Allegro molto appassionato"

W. Mozart: Concerto n.3 in G Major, K.216 “Allegro”

W. Mozart: Concerto n.5 in A Major, K. 219 “Allegro aperto - adagio - Allegro aperto”

Viola

C. P.  Stamitz: Concerto in D Major, op.1, 1st movement

F.A. Hoffmeister: Concerto in D Major, 2nd and 3rd movement (both)

Cello

J. Haydn: Concerto in C Major Hob. Viib:1, “Adagio” “Finale”(both)

L. Boccherini: Concerto in B Flat Major G.482, “Allegro Moderato”

M. Bruch: Kol Nidrei, op.47

Flute

C. Ph. E. Bach: Concerto in D minor WQ 22 -  I mov
