Marco Fornaciari, born in Leghorn, studied in his native town with Maestro C. Chiti, then completed his formal studies with honors at Geneva’s Conservatoire with Maestro C. Romano, F. Gulli, S. Accardo.
During his career he has recorded for radios and televisions broadcasts in the U.S., Canada, Japan, China, Korea, Australia, Argentina, Germany, France, Spain, Austria, Switzerland, USSR, Yugoslavia, exhibiting in prestigious places like Teatro della Scala, The Mozarteum, Musikverein, Cajkovskij Zal, Salle Pleyel, The Sydney Opera House, Bunka Kaikan, and Suntory Hall. In 6 CDs he realized the first and only complete recording of Paganini’s work for violin and guitar, received with the highest critical appraise. He also loves directing, playing the viola d’amore and other instruments. He has devoted much work to the repertoire for viola, (for which he has recorded CD in recital and with orchestra) and to perfecting his skill on the Baroque violin, with which he recorded the six sonatas and partitas by Bach for Fonè. He has been primo solo violin in “Solisti Veneti” from 1983 to 2000. He has recorded for Erato, Fonè and Naxos.
