How to apply

Submit  an ANONYMOUS score, and recording/midi (if any) to:

Application Fee: 25 Euro

– Applicants are musicians, students and professionals, of any age, gender and nationality.
– Applicants are allowed to submit just one piece.


LENGTH: 3 to 6 minutes
AVAILABLE INSTRUMENTATION: piano, voice (soprano, alto, tenor, baritone, bass), violin, viola and cello
PERFORMERS: minimum of 2, maximum of 5 *up to 2 performers per instrument
 – Pieces should be composed after January 1st, 2010
– Pieces should not have been published yet
– Pieces should be submitted anonymously

Michele Bernabei


Michele Bernabei is a young polyhedral musician, accomplished jazz trumpet player and composer. He earned a BM in trumpet at the Conservatory N.Paganini” of Genoa and MM with full marks in Jazz Arranging and Composition at the Conservatory “G. Verdi” of Turin. 

He studied Classical Composition at the Conservatory of Turin with Giorgio Colombo Taccani and in parallel at the “Scuola di Alto Perfezionamento Musicale” of Fiesole with Fabio Vacchi. 
At the same time he received the ABRSM diploma in String Orchestra Direction under the guidance of Fabrizio Dorsi. 
As a trumpet player and band leader he performs in several famous jazz-clubs and festivals and he studied with international renowned teachers such as Paolo Fresu, Marco Tamburini, Giampaolo Casati, Avishai Choen, Dave Duglas, Laurie Frink. 
His compositional language is influenced both by jazz and the improvised music’s gesture and the theater, art-form dear to him, through a research of “drama”.

Keep following us to have news about our CONCERT SERIES MUSICA NEI BORGHI, organized and promoted by the Comune di Fivizzano. The schedule will be launched in June.
